In honor of my friend, Karen Erickson’s new release, Torch, I thought it would be fun to talk about one of my favorite firemen. Played by the incredibly sexy Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Sullivan is an alpha male who is funny, charming and oh, so hot! Haven’t seen The Accidental Husband? Well, let me tell you a little bit about the movie.

So, as much as I love rom coms, I adore a fun action movie (especially if it is chalk full of humor) which is why Independence Day remains one of my all-time favorite alien invasion flicks. But that ain’t the only reason. I’m talking about Will Smith at the top of his game, all swagger and hilarity, delivering the one liners…
If you haven’t seen this classic 1996 movie with Bull Pullman (who is also insanely hot), it is definitely one to sit down this month and enjoy, especially if you have plans to see the sequel.
Over the weekend, I read the first book in the Wildwood series, Ignite, and was lucky enough to get an ARC of Smolder from the amazing Karen Erickson, so I dived into that on Sunday, and you know what? They were freaking awesome!
Especially the heroes of the books, West and Lane. West is the younger Gallagher brother, a firefighter, and a former trouble maker. While he dated Delilah in high school, he secretly wanted sweet Harper. The night before he left town, he kissed Harper, and then ditched her, leaving her feeling betrayed.
In the first of her Deadly Games series, He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not,
author Lena Diaz gives us a terrifying serial killer, the one victim who got away, and the tough, no nonsense police chief determined to catch the killer and protect the victim, Amanda.
Logan, like any cop, has reasons for the decisions he’s made in his career. When he moves back to Shadow Falls to become Chief of Police, he has no idea he’s going to end up on the trail of a killer who has been operating for years under the radar, a killer with only one living victim. The minute Logan and Amanda meet, there is an instant attraction, and Logan vows to do anything to protect her…even sacrificing his own life.
I admit that sometimes, you just have to binge watch a show you used to watch on air and several weeks ago, I was searching for something to help me get out of my own head and I stopped on Drop Dead Diva. Have you ever watched it? It is about an aspiring model who dies in a car crash, but when she gets to Heaven, she hits the return button, and she ends up coming back to life in Jane’s body. Deb isn’t happy about going from tall, thin, and blonde to a short, size sixteen brunette, but the biggest adjustment is losing her fiancé, Grayson, who happens to work with Jane at the Harrison and Parker law firm.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have always dreamed of handsome princes, first when I was a child, and then as I grew up. The Princess Diary books and historical romances featuring sexy, regal princes in disguise were always fantastic.
Which is why Alex from Suddenly Royal got added to my swoon-worthy pile of sexy princes. Shall I tell you about this awesome book?
So, this may be a little strange, but I have always been obsessed with Scottish and British History, especially the Tudor era. When I was a teenager, I used to read history books, internet articles, and especially Historical Romance, getting lost in these times. Bertrice Small was one of my all-time favorite authors because she included so much history in her books and many of her books featured Queen Elizabeth the first, one of my favorite subjects. I also adored reading about her cousin, Mary, although her life was so sad compared to Elizabeth’s it broke my heart.
That’s why when Reign first debuted, I was excited. Despite the historical inaccuracies, it is a fun, romantic show filled with intrigue, supernatural elements, and of course, sexy men.
This week, I’m going to talk about two of my favorite hotties, both of whom vied for Mary’s love at different times and lost, but I will forever think about “what could have been…”
I think I’ve mentioned before that this year I’m making more time for reading, despite my hectic writing schedule and home life. I also love to find new to me authors, so when I had the chance to read an ARC of Elizabeth Hayley’s new book, The Wedding Agreement, I was incredibly stoked. I had heard such good things about their writing (plus, if you follow them on Facebook or their blog, they are funny as hell.)
Wait, did you catch that I said, “them?” That’s right, Elizabeth Hayley is a writing duo. Two people who work together in harmony to create romance novels that tug at your heartstrings and The Wedding Agreement is no exception. Especially as it introduces us to sexy FBI agent Alex, a single father trying to have a relationship with his daughter, with no time for anything else. So when his ex-wife won’t let him have his daughter for the summer, his friends with benefits partner, Cass, decides to tell her that Alex and she are engaged, hoping it will make his ex-wife, Tessa, more comfortable leaving their daughter, Nina, with him. It’s supposed to be a temporary solution and once the fake engagement is over, they go back to being friends. But complications arise when the two fall in love…
When The Mummy released in 1999, I had the biggest crush on Brendan Fraser as Rick O’Connell. I bought this movie and watched it over and over again. It had action, adventure, humor, and romance.
Is it kind of cheesy? Yes, of course it is, but that is part of its charm. The movie starts out telling the origin story of the Mummy. Years ago he hooked up with the Pharaoh’s mistress and when they were caught, he was cursed. If he was ever released he would be a monster, bent on destruction. Fast forward to a group of explorers, treasure hunters, and one librarian, awakening him and now all the Mummy wants is to resurrect his one true love, at any cost.
Another week, and I’ve got three times the heroes for you! USA Today bestselling author Cynthia Sax, Award Winning author T.J. Kline, and Rita Award Nominee Asa Maria Bradley are joining me this week to share some of their favorite heroes and why they’re the swooniest.
First up is my Nashville loving friend, Asa Maria Bradley. Asa’s debut novel, Viking Warrior Rising, is up for not one but TWO Rita Awards: Best First Book and Best Paranormal Romance. When I asked her what book in the last year had held an extremely Swoon-Worthy Hero, she had this to say:
“I read Rebecca Zanetti’s Mercury Striking a few months ago and fell in lust with the hero, Jax Mercury, as soon as he stepped on the page. This book launches a new series, and although Jax won’t be the romantic lead in the other novels–he gets his girl in this one—I already know I’ll be buying ALL the books just so I can spend some more time with my Jax.”
