I think I’ve mentioned before that this year I’m making more time for reading, despite my hectic writing schedule and home life. I also love to find new to me authors, so when I had the chance to read an ARC of Elizabeth Hayley’s new book, The Wedding Agreement, I was incredibly stoked. I had heard such good things about their writing (plus, if you follow them on Facebook or their blog, they are funny as hell.)
Wait, did you catch that I said, “them?” That’s right, Elizabeth Hayley is a writing duo. Two people who work together in harmony to create romance novels that tug at your heartstrings and The Wedding Agreement is no exception. Especially as it introduces us to sexy FBI agent Alex, a single father trying to have a relationship with his daughter, with no time for anything else. So when his ex-wife won’t let him have his daughter for the summer, his friends with benefits partner, Cass, decides to tell her that Alex and she are engaged, hoping it will make his ex-wife, Tessa, more comfortable leaving their daughter, Nina, with him. It’s supposed to be a temporary solution and once the fake engagement is over, they go back to being friends. But complications arise when the two fall in love…
This might just be me, but there is nothing sexier than a good father, and the scenes between Nina and Alex definitely portray him as such. But there is more to Alex than just being a dad. When he is with Cass, he is pure, male awesomeness. Not to say he doesn’t have his flaws. He is stubborn, has a temper, and can get wrapped up in his work something awful.
But there is so much to swoon over with Alex, I’m not going to concentrate on the bad. Let me just give you a list of the things I adore about Alex and you can decide for yourself.
- Alex is an FBI Agent. Enough said.
- Alex is an all-around great guy. He is protective of Cass, would give his life for Nina and even kind of forgives his ex-wife for cheating on him.
- Alex is totally Alpha-Male-Sex-Pot in the sack…seriously, what he does in the book will make any woman’s toes curl.
- Alex has some great lines. Seriously, I love how smart this guy is.
The Wedding Agreement is book three in the Strictly Business series and releases May 3rd at all major retailers. To find out more about these two hilarious women and their amazing books, just visit their website.
