Thanks for having me on the EverAfter Romance blog!

Music is a huge inspiration for me when I write. I usually start building the playlist for a new book before I even start writing. The music and the songs really help me to keep the tone of the story even and different songs can bring out different characters and help me connect with them.

For my new release, Ice Moon, I had a playlist with 64 songs! I won’t list them all here, but let me give you a few highlights.

You by Fisher – Gorgeous song! And my heroine, Taryn, is a single Mom so this one helped me pull that protective Mom instinct out.

Let It Go – Funny that my “Ice Queen” in Ice Moon actually has the gift of Pyrokenisis (fire) and she’s actually terrified of it. This song definitely kept me inspired as Taryn learned to let her fears go and control her power.

Have a Little Faith in Me by John Hiatt — My hero, Jared Ayres is a really good guy, but when he discovers his mate, Taryn, is so distant from everyone, this song really spoke for him as I wrote. He just wanted to be that shoulder to lean on that she’d never had in her entire life.

Unpack Your Heart by Phillip Phillips — This song was perfectly how Jared felt about Taryn. He wanted her sorrow, her beauty and her war. Her secrets and scars, he wanted all of it. And he spent most of the book proving he was worthy of all her secrets, her love and her heart. He stumbled a couple of times, but he came through in the end! 🙂

Burnin’ by Cue – Jared and Taryn had so much chemistry even when she was the “ice queen” but she was definitely “burning” for him. This song caught the passion and it played often when things were heating up between them!

Hope you enjoy the music! And thanks again for letting me visit!
