Cecilia Grant’s A Woman Entangled is a very different flavor from most historicals-it’s the third book in her Blackshear Family series, but you don’t have to have read the previous books in the series to enjoy this one. It’s got a heroine who is set on her course for far longer than most heroines are, and for that reason, she isn’t always likable (and honestly it was nearly a DNF for me midway, but then it resolved itself more amazingly than I could have hoped), but the resulting relationship is worth the pain of the journey. It resonates with you long after you’ve finished the book. Highly recommended.

 

 

 

Molly O’Keefe’s Indecent Proposal is the fourth book in her Boys of Bishop series, but can be read as a standalone. Like Grant’s protagonists, Molly O’Keefe’s characters aren’t always admirable, but-also like Grant-they are always intriguing. This is a contemporary romance with a marriage of convenience, but of course the book’s course is anything but convenient. I haven’t read this one (though it is on my TBR pile), but O’Keefe never fails to deliver a powerful emotional punch in all of her single title romances.
