Guest Post: “Four Authors of Erotic SciFi Romance” by Veronica Scott

In the mood to read a book that combines supernova-hot erotic elements with a futuristic plot?

Today I’m highlighting a few authors who deliver just that in their scifi. Between them, these ladies deploy everything, from BDSM and femdom to spanking and menage in their intergalactic adventures. Definitely not for the under 18 crowd!

Under By Treaty Kayla Stonor
Kayla Stonor:  Her Qui Treaty Collection is an autobuy for me. Under By Treaty is the first volume in the series and got me completely hooked on Ms. Stonor and the Qui-human relations. There’s a human alpha hero in the first book, General Jaden, sacrificed by his own people for the greater good, given up as a prisoner as the book opens. A sexy alien shapeshifter who may or may not be trying to save Earth from destruction by her own people is his captor.  Intergalactic politics laced with domination, submission and devotion influence Jaden’s fate among  the aliens. Several major plot twists occur to keep the action moving nicely. The science fiction worldbuilding is well-handled and I definitely bought into the romance that develops between Jaden and the very alien heroine.

The rest of the books in the series so far contain many of the same erotic elements. I also enjoy the strong human and nonhuman heroines we meet along the way, along with the alpha males in Ms. Stonor’s universe.

Kate Pearce: The Tribute series is quite dark, and book two ends on a cliffhanger, which I usually avoid, BUT in this case, I overlooked that because I was invested in the characters and eager to get to Book 3, Triumph, which is available now and does not have a cliffhanger ending. There’s a solid science fiction explanation built as to why the things that go on are happening, although the reader has to get pretty deep into Sacrifice, the first book in the series, to find out the secret that necessitates all the harsh training and BDSM elements. Anna, the heroine of Sacrifice, is tough and strong, as she needs to be. I really liked Anna!

Cara Bristol: The Breeder series is built on a well visualized, futuristic concept. Set on a planet where tradition has created a male-dominated society, women have no status other than as possessions, subject to harsh domestic discipline. Over the three books, the rigid societal situation breaks down and then improves, thanks to a few key men and women strong enough to fight for their love, and to see the need for change, including a Terran woman in the second book. The passion and growing devotion which turns to love between Commander Dak and Omra in the first book is well handled and draws the reader into the story. The second and third books in the trilogy build smoothly on the events of the first.

Cynthia Sax: She’s just launched her new Cyborg Sizzle series with Releasing Rage.  Rage, the cyborg of the title, only wants to kill all the humans and escape the life he’s been forced into. Joan, the human heroine who serves as his battle engineer longs to prove she’s strong enough to do the job, serve his needs…and survive.  Ironically, her human comrades are often the biggest threat to her existence. Rage and Joan find common ground and their relationship evolves into romance over time. The story is quite dark and some reviewers have suggested the book might need a trigger warning for certain aspects of the plot. The scifi world building was definitely present, with room for more stories set in the same universe.

I know there are many other good SFR erotic stories out there so please feel free to share your favorites in the comments. Who’s on your TBR list?

Amazon best-seller Veronica Scott is a three-time recipient of the SFR Galaxy Award, and has written a number of science-fiction and fantasy romances, none of which venture into erotic territory. Her latest release is Star Cruise: Marooned. You can find out more about her and her books on Facebook, Twitter, and her website.

Awww… thank you so much for mentioning Releasing Rage. (big hugs) And yes, it is VERY dark.

I LOVE Cara Bristol’s Breeder and Kate Pierce’s Sacrifice. Kayla Stonor’s Under By Treaty is new to me and I’ll definitely check that story out!

I really enjoy Laurann Dohner’s sexy SciFi erotic romances ( Ral’s Woman was the first SciFi erotic romance of hers I read and it started my interest in the entire niche).

Eve Langlais also writes some delicious SciFi romances with humor. Her heat range varies but all of them are hilarious.

I agree, I really enjoy Laurann Dohner and Eve Langlais. Two more excellent suggestions! I have your new sequel BREATHING VAPOR on my kindle TBR.

  3. Cara Bristol

Thank you for mentioning the Breeder series. What a nice surprise!

I’ve read Cynthia Sax’s Cyborg sizzle books and loved them. I’d also like to recommend Michelle Howard’s World Beyond Series for its world-building and political intrigue.

  4. Kayla Stonor

Thank you so much! I’m honored to have your recommendation and I have the sequel to Under By Treaty due for release very soon. I must check these other books and authors out. They sound fun!

Another author to look out for is my editor Travis Luedke. His ANGEL 6.0 series is his recent scifi foray into erotic romance with a dark, bloodcurdling story recently published in a box set.

  5. Jonella Moore

Thanks for the recommendations of these SciFi romances! If you haven’t read it yet my favorite SciFi romance of all time is RIBUS 7 by Shae Mills. It is just fantastic!

  6. Veronica Scott

I’ll definitely check out RIBUS 7 – always looking for new-to-me authors. Thanks!
