When forced to choose between duty and honor…
Darach MacKenzie vowed never again to let a woman near his heart after his betrothed betrayed him. It sparked an intense feud between his clan and the Frasers. With all-out war on the wind, Darach can’t be distracted—not even by a sweet and charming lass who desperately needs his help.
This Highland Laird will find a way to have both
When Darach rescued Caitlin MacInnes from the clutches of vile Laird Fraser, she vowed to never let men or misery rule her life again. With Darach and the MacKenzie clan, Caitlin finally feels safe. But when Laird Fraser shows up to claim what’s rightfully his, or go to war, Darach will have to use all his brawn and brains to protect Caitlin—even if it means losing his heart.
1) The Secret—Julie Garwood
When I was asked to write a blog about my five favorite Highlander romances, the first thing to pop into my mind were ALL of Julie Garwood’s Highlander historicals: Le sigh…Just thinking about them brings up ALL THE FEELS. When you read a Julie Garwood book, it’s like being cocooned in happiness, and nothing could possibly be wrong with the world. You want to stay in that warm, fuzzy place she’s created and never leave. Am I right? I chose The Secret (although The Bride is a close second) because Judith and Iain amuse me to no end (as do most of Garwood’s characters). It’s the way Judith stubbornly, yet kindly, refuses to be ordered around by him, and he can’t help falling in love with her because of it.
