Haven’t stepped into paranormal romance yet? Don’t think it’s your cup of tea? Let Tracey Martin show you just how good it can be.
1. In worlds filled with badass magical creatures, they are the ultimate badasses. Even if they’re fully human, they need to be just as mentally (if not physically) tough as everyone around them. However you define strong, they’re it.
2. They’re smart. They may not be the most educated person in the story, but they know how to solve mysteries and fix problems like no one else.
3. On a related note, they’re usually witty. When lives are at stake, having a sense of humor always helps.
4. They get to use the coolest weapons. Sure, some of them use guns, but they get special bullets. And swords!
5. They have the most loyal, awesome friends and sidekicks.
6. Sexy men love them. It doesn’t hurt that the badass magical creatures in their world are often devoted to them, and they tend to fall hard.
7. They know how to have fun, and by fun, I mean they know how to get into heaps of trouble.
8. Many of them seem amazingly capable of living without much sleep. It’s like a secret paranormal heroine superpower.
9. Maybe because of that lack of sleep thing, a lot of them seem to survive on nothing but coffee. Eating can be such an annoyance. Wouldn’t life be simpler if we could all do that?
10. If their book covers can be believed, they get to wear leather pants. Who doesn’t wish they were cool enough to claim THAT as a wardrobe staple?
If you haven’t met the heroine of my Miss Misery series yet, right now is a great time to get acquainted with Jess and her satyr boyfriend Lucen. She’s got a super smart hacker best friend, a knife forged in salamander fire, and—of course—a pair of leather pants (hey, they were bought as a joke). She’s also been framed for murder, and will need all of those people and things to clear her name. Well, maybe not the leather pants. Currently, Wicked Misery is on sale for $.99 and Dirty Little Misery for $1.99 at all retailers.
Tracey Martin wanted to be an astronaut, a doctor, and an actor, possibly all at once. Instead, she studied psychology, and that led her to have an epiphany–imaginary people are way more fun than real ones. And so she became a writer.
She likes her coffee simple, her music epic, and her movies to contain explosions. A city girl at heart, she doesn’t understand how she and her husband ended up living in New Hampshire, but writing keeps her off the mean, small town streets.
Although she considers herself a hermit, she’s a friendly one. You can find her online on Goodreads, Twitter, and Tracey-Martin.com.
