Why Wynonna Earp? | Mary Hughes

Thank you to Ever After Romance for having me here today!

Have you ever binge-watched television shows? Sat out a snowstorm or a heatwave or did epic laundry with back-to-back episodes of your favorite show like NCIS or The Flash? I love both gripping crime dramas with quirky characters like Death in Paradise and Elementary and action-packed, high-stakes shows like Gotham and Agents of SHIELD.

So why do I binge-watch Wynonna Earp?

Searing drama. Brilliantly funny. Raw action. Two—count ’em, two hot guys. And good grief, is Wynonna a strong character!

Based on the IDW Comic. Wynonna Earp battles demons with her great grandfather Wyatt’s honking huge Peacemaker revolver and her own kickassery. Joined by posse of dysfunctional allies including a special agent with the Black Badge division of the US Marshals, the actual Doc Holliday, and Wynonna’s brilliant baby sister now all grown up, Wynonna boldly stands between the souls living in the Ghost River Triangle and the paranormal evils trapped there which would destroy them.

If you adore a complex weave of action, relationships, and snappy dialog, all enlivened by fantastic elements, give Wynonna Earp a try.

And if you love those things, check out my new release Night’s Caress.

How do Night’s Caress and Wynonna Earp compare? In Night’s Caress, the heroine is an artist instead of a demon hunter, and there’s only one hot guy—but Brie Lark is as brash and badass as you could want, and FBI special agent Seb Rikare is a giant god of a vampire, as powerful, dangerous, and sexy as any two men.

In this small town, nothing is as it seems…

When artist Brie Lark left her vampire ex and her straitjacket of a hometown to breathe free in New York City, she promised herself two things: she’d never go back to Meiers Corner, and no more vampires. The last thing she expected—or wanted—was to be sent back home on an assignment. But her boss at the FBI needs her undercover on a murder case, working with a black-haired, black-eyed giant god of a man who’s her idea of perfection, except for one thing—he’s a vampire.

FBI Special Agent Seb Rikare is an ancient vampire hardened by loss. He’s cut all emotions to protect himself and leads a deliberately steady, almost sterile life. The brash young woman forced to pose as his lover irritates him, with her jangling bracelets and colorful hair. But as much as she irritates him, he finds himself drawn to her lively spirit and he’s tempted to make fantasy a reality.

Okay, I haven’t seen Wynonna Earp season 2 so please take pity on me and don’t give me any spoilers in the comments! LOL.

Hugs! ~Mary
