What are your five favorite movies with romance or romantic elements? Describe your favorite scene from each one (you can include a Youtube clip if you want as well).
When Harry Met Sally – a perfect example of when love sneaks up on you.
The Bridges of Madison County – a heartbreaking example of finding your soulmate, only to realize it won’t be the person with whom you spend your life.
Casino Royale – when two people who never should fall in love do so anyway.
Red – loneliness is universal, even for a retired CIA agent and a Social Security Customer Service Operator. I love how Bruce Willis’ character starts reading the romance novels Mary Louise Parker does so he can get to know her better.
Apollo 13 – love means you’re there for your spouse, even when it hurts you.
Did you have any of these scenes in mind when writing scenes from your latest release?
Not any one of them, but the idea of sacrificing something for the one you love was always on my mind.
FIRST ROMANCE (AKA My First Time):
What was the first romance novel you read?
Kathleen Woodiwiss, Come Love a Stranger
What do you remember about it?
How well she incorporated the city and environment into the story until you felt like you were there with them.
What did you like most about it?
The alpha hero.
What did you like least about it?
The heroine was a bit too helpless, but it was also the time period that lent itself to the genre.
Have you ever reread it? If you did, how do you feel about it now?
Yes. It’s a bit dated, but still a lovely story that I enjoy.
Sunrise or sunset?
Angst or humor?
Tea or coffee?
Cake or pie?
Scruff, beard, or clean-shaven?
Blue-collar or white collar?
Faced with a choice between bad-boy detective Dean Ryker and sexy power player Parker Anderson, Sage Reece fought the law-and the law won. But while Ryker’s sizzling touch may rule her nights, Sage’s days belong to Parker’s cool, calculating intensity . . .
Both Ryker and Parker are determined to protect Sage from a brutal enemy who’d use her to pay for their mistakes. Yet when the usually on-point Ryker is distracted by ghosts from his past, Parker seizes his opportunity to get Sage’s attention . . . and keep it in ways beyond her wildest dreams.
Now, caught between a mobster out for revenge and two men who were once best friends, Sage must play to win-even if it means getting dirty . . .
