Swoon-Worthy Heroes: Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead

So, right about now, people are probably wondering…why Daryl? And why #TWD ? He’s not in a romantic relationship, although there are hardcore #shippers who imagine #Caryl riding off on Daryl’s motorcycle into the walker free horizon. Carol and Darylon the cycle I’ll admit, some of my favorite “AW” moments involve these too, but even without Carol, Daryl would be totally Swoon-Worthy. It’s the way he interacts with the whole group, from Season Two on, that makes Daryl a guy to fall for. shhh

Not a Walking Dead fan? That’s okay, let me catch you up.

Swoon-Worthy Heroes: Sawyer Hayes from Shelly Bell’s BLACK LISTED

The hero I will be introducing you to puts the sex in sexy, that’s for sure. If you haven’t pre-ordered Black Listed, it is the fourth novel in Shelly Bell’s Benediction series. Black Listed by Shelly Bell It is Erotic Romantic Suspense and it is definitely H-A-W-T! And so is our hero, Sawyer Hayes; billionaire, CEO, tech genius, alpha/dominant… drool

Don’t know what Benediction is? Well, it is a BDSM club and all of the books (from the White Collared serials to Black Listed) have several scenes take place in the club and all of the heroes and heroines meet and fall in love because they share a common interest; kink.

Swoon-Worthy Heroes: Leo Jensen from Brinda Berry’s THE BEAUTY OF LIES

This year, I made a promise to myself that I would read more. Since starting this writing journey, I found myself reading less and less each year. tv for your headNot that I stopped loving books, but like a lot of writers, I would start to compare my writing to others or even feel guilty for reading when I could be working. (Stupid, I know, but there it is.) I even started doing the Goodreads challenges to calculate how many books I was reading in my spare time. Sadly, in 2015, I barely broke twenty-five. horrified I know. For a girl who used to devour six or seven books in a week, this was just pitiful.

In 2016, my goal is fifty. One of the books I’ve picked up is The Beauty of Lies and boy, am I so glad I did. Because Leo, let me tell you, is hot. He’s sexy. He is kind, and caring and vulnerable and strong and…okay, so sometimes he can be dumb, just like every hero, but overall, Leo definitely falls into the Swoon-Worthy category. Plus, I mean, have you seen Berry’s cover for The Beauty of LiesThe Beauty of Lies Brinda Berry So gorgeous!!!

Swoon-Worthy Heroes: Declan O’Callaghan from Leap Year

After Matthew Goode stole my heart in Chasing Liberty, Chasing_Liberty_poster I was ravenous to see his adorable face again. So, when the romantic comedy, Leap Year, leap year poster came out with Amy Adams (who BTW, got one of her first speaking roles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV Show),Amy on BuffyI couldn’t wait to see it.

But if I thought Matthew Goode was cute with his native British accent, hearing his Irish brogue made my ovaries explode. Not to mention his character, Declan O’Callaghan, is a surly, sarcastic arse nursing a broken heart and sporting a rapier wit. speak cow

What’s not to love, right?

Swoon-Worthy Hero Highlights: Knox Callighan from Sophie Jordan’s ALL CHAINED UP

All Chained Up Sophie Jordan

Have you ever read a Sophie Jordan book? sophieThis woman does it all; from YA and NA to Paranormal and Historical, Sophie has written some amazing books…and her latest contemporary series boasts to be her most intense yet. Her new book, All Chained Up, which releases March 29th 2016, introduces readers to Devil’s Rock Prison and its inhabitants.

I’ll admit, a series with convicts had me a little leery, but as I’m a big fan of Sophie’s, I wanted to give it a try.

And fell, quite irrevocably, under Knox’s spell.

Swoon-Worthy Hero Highlights: Wade vs. George from Hart of Dixie

Over the holidays, I may have binge watched Hart of Dixie. Why? I don’t know, because I wanted to see Wade Kinsella shirtless in every episode? Perhaps. Watching it from the beginning I found myself at war throughout all four seasons, mostly over who Zoe should have ended up with. Because in the first episode, Zoe is marching along the side of the road, and handsome George Tucker shows up.
George Tucker

Now, from this very moment there was major sparkage between these two; they both had so much in common. They bonded as they drove to Bluebell, Alabama, but upon arriving in town, Zoe discovers that George is already engaged. Disappointed, and having a rough go of it, Zoe has a little too much to drink and ends up in the car of another Bluebell bachelor…Wade Kinsella, the town’s womanizing bartender. Wade’s already rubbed Zoe the wrong way,

Swoon-Worthy Hero: Chase McKee from WILD AT HEART by T.J. Kline

wild at heart tj kline

Have I mentioned how much I love a friends to lover’s story? Well, I was lucky enough to get an advanced reader copy of the fourth book of the Healing Hart’s series, Wild at Heart. In it, we get to fall in love with Chase McKee and Bailey Hart. Bailey is the youngest cousin in the Hart family, and Chase is her older cousin, Justin’s friend. Although these two have always had feelings for each other, they have never admitted their attraction…but now, with Chase back in town and Bailey set to leave for L.A., he’s got to take a chance or lose the woman he loves without a fight.

Jensen Ackles

First of all, when T.J. Kline told me that her inspiration for Chase was Jensen Ackles, I was immediately sold on this book (plus, she’s my friend, so I always read her stuff. ;-)) But then Chase’s back story tugged at my heart and made me want to reach through the pages and give the guy a big old hug. Instead of following his father’s life plan, he enlisted in the military and became a MP. When he got out, he became a cop in Oakland and when he lost his partner, he moved back home to lick his wounds. The poor guy suffers from survivor’s guilt and blames himself for his partner’s death, which is enough to break my heart into a million pieces.

Swoon-Worthy Hero Highlights: Jace Montgomery From Jude Deveraux’s Wishes

Wishes Jude Deveraux

As a young girl who struggled with her weight from the time she was ten, I remember picking Jude Deveraux’s Wishes when I was thirteen. I felt an intense kinship with Nellie Grayson-the heroine who had a pretty face, but because she was overweight, it didn’t seem to matter. I held onto the dream that a guy would come along and love me for me, which is why I think I’ve held onto Wishes for twenty years and continue to read it again and again. Because Jace Montgomery was everything I fantasized about.

*The unofficial Wishes book trailer I found on YouTube.

If you haven’t read Wishes, it is a Cinderella tale about a selfish woman who gets to purgatory (or The Kitchen in this case) and, because of how nasty she was in life, can’t advance to Heaven until she has completed a type of fairy Godmother deal. Although she at first likes Nellie’s little sister, Terel, she grants Nellie three wishes…wishes that benefited everyone but Nellie because of her selfless and giving nature. When the Godmother finally tries to fix things, she realizes that she really does need to change. But even during all the frustrations and wanting to slap Terel and shake Nellie, there was Jace.
