About Pretty Dead Girls:

Beautiful. Perfect. Dead.

In the peaceful seaside town of Cape Bonita, wicked secrets and lies are hidden just beneath the surface. But all it takes is one tragedy for them to be exposed.

The most popular girls in school are turning up dead, and Penelope Malone is terrified she’s next. All the victims so far have been linked to Penelope—and to a boy from her physics class. The one she’s never really noticed before, with the rumored dark past and a brooding stare that cuts right through her.

There’s something he isn’t telling her. But there’s something she’s not telling him, either.

Everyone has secrets, and theirs might get them killed.

Now onto the Q&A with Pretty Dead Girls author, MONICA MURPHY!

What was the first romance novel you read?

A long time ago, Silhouette (now Harlequin) had a teen line, and it was called First Love from Silhouette. The book I absolutely 100% adored (I don’t know if it was my first romance, but it was the most memorable) was called LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT by Elaine Harper.

What do you remember about it?

The hero was sooooswoooooony. My every teenage dream (I was probably 12 or 13 when I first read it). And the heroine (Janine) was so real. She couldn’t believe the popular, handsome Craig could like her.

What did you like most about it?

That it was so relatable. I felt like I was Janine in the book. I could totally understand where she was coming from at all times.

What did you like least about it?

I don’t remember disliking any of it! Well, maybe I wanted more scenes with them together. They were apart a lot of the book which drove me crazy.

Have you ever reread it? If you did, how do you feel about it now?

Yes! I went on Amazon and found an old print copy of the book and currently own it.  I reread it a few years ago, and it wasn’t as great as I remember it. BUT the sentimental value of that book is priceless. I might’ve been inspired by a few moments in that book and those inspired moments showed up in my book MORE THAN FRIENDS (shameless plug, sorry).

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT will forever hold a special place in my heart. I might need to reread it again (or maybe just skip to all my favorite parts, ha ha).
