The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

The Washington Post and USA Today Bestseller

“I might be Cinderella today, but I dread who they’ll think I am tomorrow. I guess it depends on what I do next.”

American Rebecca Porter was never one for fairy tales. Her twin sister, Lacey, has always been the romantic who fantasized about glamour and royalty, fame and fortune. Yet it’s Bex who seeks adventure at Oxford and finds herself living down the hall from Prince Nicholas, Great Britain’s future king. And when Bex can’t resist falling for Nick, the person behind the prince, it propels her into a world she did not expect to inhabit, under a spotlight she is not prepared to face.

Dating Nick immerses Bex in ritzy society, dazzling ski trips, and dinners at Kensington Palace with him and his charming, troublesome brother, Freddie. But the relationship also comes with unimaginable baggage: hysterical tabloids, Nick’s sparkling and far more suitable ex-girlfriends, and a royal family whose private life is much thornier and more tragic than anyone on the outside knows. The pressures are almost too much to bear, as Bex struggles to reconcile the man she loves with the monarch he’s fated to become.

Which is how she gets into trouble.

Now, on the eve of the wedding of the century, Bex is faced with whether everything she’s sacrificed for love-her career, her home, her family, maybe even herself-will have been for nothing.

Her Lucky Cowboy: A Montana Men Novel by Jennifer Ryan

Everything’s bigger in Big Sky country, including the hearts of the Montana Men

Champion rodeo rider Dane Bowden is eight seconds from winning under the Vegas lights, one last hurrah before reluctantly returning to his family’s Montana ranch. But his bull has other plans. When Dane wakes up, he’s sure he’s died and gone to heaven . . . because the doctor who comes to his aid is the same girl who saved his life and disappeared years ago.

Bell would do anything for Dane. He’s the fantasy that always kept her going. A child genius hidden away by her family, Bell was the secret no one talked about, the girl no one wanted. Despite finding success as a young surgeon, she’s still the awkward girl who’s never had a boyfriend. So why does Dane, a notorious playboy and sizzling-hot cowboy, insist on taking her on a real date?

Bell is the only woman in Dane’s heart. When a rodeo rivalry turns deadly, it’s his turn to save Bell’s life—because he sure as hell won’t lose his guardian angel again.

All Of Me by Jennifer Bernard

Jennifer Bernard, the USA Today bestselling author of the Bachelor Firemen series, scores another homerun with a brand-new series about sexy, single baseball players.

Playing for the Kilby Catfish is hotshot pitcher Caleb Hart’s last chance to salvage his career after a major league meltdown. But the day of his opener with the minor league team, Caleb strikes out with the gorgeous woman who is delivering a petition to run the unruly Catfish out of town. Now, to stay in the lineup, Caleb will need to score big with the feisty brunette he can’t keep out of his thoughts.

After the nasty lies Sadie Merritt’s rich ex-boyfriend spread about her all over town, she’s lucky to have a job at all. She can’t afford to screw it up by falling for the player who is supposed to be helping her change the image of the fun-loving Catfish. But that’s easier said than done when Caleb’s voice alone is enough to make her pulse race. And when he surprises her with a mind-blowing kiss, she knows there’s no turning back.

Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

Sophie has the great misfortune of being the eldest of three daughters, destined to fail miserably should she ever leave home to seek her fate. But when she unwittingly attracts the ire of the Witch of the Waste, Sophie finds herself under a horrid spell that transforms her into an old lady. Her only chance at breaking it lies in the ever-moving castle in the hills: the Wizard Howl’s castle. To untangle the enchantment, Sophie must handle the heartless Howl, strike a bargain with a fire demon, and meet the Witch of the Waste head-on. Along the way, she discovers that there’s far more to Howl—and herself—than first meets the eye.

One of the first pieces of advice that new writers are given is write what you know. That’s all well and fine if you’re a medical professional and you’re planning to write medical romances or medical suspense. On the other hand, I’ve never killed anyone (except on paper!) and my house lacks a good haunting for a ghost story. However, if you want to know about dust bunnies and dog hair collections, I’m your gal!

She realizes, even steps off the plane from the city in California, what a palpable difference he is from the boys back home. Even going so far to note that Jake is more like a man than a boy, even though they are about the same age.

Guest Post: On Cowboys in Romance by Alison Bliss, Cathryn Fox, and Clare James

Today we have Alison Bliss, Cathryn Fox, & Clare James, three fabulous authors who all have cowboy books recently out! They’re sharing with us why they love cowboys and what theirs have to offer readers! Save a horse, buy/read the books today!

Here’s what Cathryn Fox has to say about her hot cowboys: There’s just something about a denim clad, hard working, cowboy that fires a woman’s blood and sets her heart racing. Perhaps it’s their manners, sexy swagger, or the raw maleness they ooze as they tend to their cattle? Then again it could be their protective nature, and how they’ll face off against any man, no matter the size, to protect the woman they love. I’m not sure what it is, but I do know there’s just something about a cowboy… If you don’t believe me, just ask Jess Gray from Wild Ride. The second Wildman Mac tips his hat and puts a protective arm around her, informing her he wants her in his bed for the week, his rules, his terms, she knows she’s a gonner.

Guest Post: Marie Piper’s Top 5 Western Romances

Haven's Flame Marie Piper

I was all of thirteen when I fell in love with the old west, thanks to a little-known (and short-lived) CBS show called The Magnificent Seven. (Check out the opening credits!)

This series, based off the classic Yul Brynner/Steve McQueen film, launched me on my path to seeking out books and movies involving cowboys, gunslingers, outlaws, saloon girls, uptight schoolteachers, and all the other wonderful tropes and characters that populate Westerns. I fell head over heels, and remain so to this day. (Lonesome Dove is the best book ever written, I’m pretty sure.)

There are a ton of amazing authors writing the West. To pay tribute to a few of them, and also to share my love of the genre, I’m very happy to present my Top 5 Western Historical Romances.

5. Texas Mail Order Bride, by Linda Broday.

Mail Order Brides and the mix-ups they cause are common in Western Historical Romance, but Ms. Broaday took the cliché and make it crackle in this book. Cooper is a single rancher, and Delta is the bride in question, but as Cooper didn’t place the ad, they don’t get off to a good start and it takes time for them to banter and realize they’re perfect for each other. On top of this simmering romance is a suspenseful mystery, a ton of colorful secondary (very Western) characters, and the story of a town coming to life. This book is very sweet and totally lovely.

Guest Post: “Inspiration” by Jodi Thomas

Ransom Canyon Jodi Thomas

Jodi Thomas’s Ransom Canyon, the first book in her Ransom Canyon series, is more than just a romance between its hero and heroine; it’s got stories of people in a tiny Texas town, all of whose lives converge and change. Jodi is here to talk about her inspiration. Thanks, Jodi!

My newest RANSOM CANYON series has just been released and I am so excited! I think that this series is the best and deepest I’ve ever written.

Like most writers I get the same question again and again. “Where do your ideas come from?

Sometimes I have no idea where the seed of an idea started to grow in my mind. But, then I get out Grandma Kirkland’s button box….

Guest Post: “Five Tips for Surviving the Old West” by Anna Schmidt

The Drifter Anna Schmidt

Anna Schmidt’s The Drifter, part of her Last Chance Cowboys series, offers a hero “who trouble follows,” he admits, but the heroine just can’t keep her distance from him. Anna’s here to share her tips on surviving the Old West (it’s more than just putting on that leather vest, fyi). Here’s Anna jumping into the saddle to spur us into some Old West knowledge.

Anna Schmidt’s Five Tips for Surviving the Old West

  • Be prepared! The Boy Scouts mantra notwithstanding, possibly the biggest mistake newcomers to the frontier made was in not learning enough about the terrain, the weather, the hazards, etc. Many came West with the arrogance so common among those leaving a cosmopolitan area and headed for something more rural and unsettled.
