Now onto the guest post… Elizabeth Michels shares her most anticipated books of the summer!
Summer is finally here! The sun is bright in the sky and a lounge chair by the water is calling my name. Today I’m filling my beach bag with my sunglasses, a drink with a tiny umbrella in it, and some great books. Here are 5 books I’ve been looking forward to reading all spring!
When I see a book with the name Amanda Quick on the cover, I always know I’m going to find a great story inside. In THE GIRL WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, we go to a 1930s Hollywood hideaway where the secrets are plentiful. When a beautiful actress is found dead at the bottom of a pool, it’s a young reporter’s job to discover the truth. Add to this an actor who isn’t all that he seems, powerful men determined to cover up the messy details, and a hotel owner whose livelihood hangs in the balance, and you have a page turner for sure! I can’t wait to dive into this one! ☺
In A STARDANCE SUMMER, Emily March takes us Glamping with Grannies! Are you already as hooked as I am? Good! A career-driven woman takes some time to sort things out in her life at Stardance Ranch in Colorado. While enjoying the great outdoors she meets the owner of the resort and a romance begins, until his ex-girlfriend arrives on the scene. I’m really looking forward to escaping into this world of glamour-camping this summer!
I’ve been a fan of Sabrina Jeffries’ books for years! When I spotted her latest, THE PLEASURES OF PASSION, I said, “Yes, please!” This is a story of the reuniting of former lovers from years past. The only problem is after exile and lies neither one of these characters is very pleased about being thrown back together with the other. Past hurts battle with increasing desire in the type of story Sabrina Jefferies is known for. Ahhhh! I’m so excited about this book! Did I mention that the two are working together to catch a counterfeiter connected to the heroine’s father? I’ll say it again, “Yes, please!”
I’m really looking forward to escaping into Laura Trentham’s Mississippi town of Cottonbloom for a few days in LEAVE THE NIGHT ON! When a boutique owner finds a lacy thong in her fiancé’s car, she knows it’s the same lacy lingerie she sold to her best friend. Determined to get even, she begins a fictional affair with an old friend from the wrong side of the tracks. But what starts as fake, turns real in this summer page turner. This is book 4 in the wonderful and highly acclaimed, Cottonbloom series, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Who’s looking forward to hanging out with a cowboy this summer? I know I am! In Harper Sloan’s LOST RIDER, a rodeo star returns home to run the horse farming business after an injury. And that’s where he sees the girl he once turned away, his younger sister’s best friend. Only now she’s grown up and no longer the girl who’s holding a secret crush on her friend’s older brother. It’s a story of broken hearts and flying sparks! I think that’s just what I need while I relax and sip my drink with the tiny umbrella in it!
I hope you find some free time this summer to relax poolside and disappear into a great story. What book are you most looking forward to reading this month?
