Behind the Scenes of THE ATTRACTION EQUATION by Kadie Scott!

She’s the exception to every rule…

FBI agent Max Carter lives his life by a strict set of rules—rules that don’t allow for distraction, deviation…or a relationship. But tell that to his matchmaking mama. To avoid yet another set-up, he announces he has a girlfriend. And now has to produce said girlfriend at Christmas dinner. Maybe Santa has a suitable actress in that red bag of his…

Gina Castillo is about to break her building’s iron-clad “no pets” policy to give her little brother the perfect Christmas gift—a dog. Too bad Max, the most inconveniently sexy tenant in the building, catches her red handed. Gina expects to be evicted, but instead finds herself blackmailed into playing the role of his girlfriend.

Two lies plus one dog should equal a hot mess of a holiday, but attraction and Christmas magic might just defy the rules…

What is your pet named?

A few years ago, we adopted a dog from the local shelter. We originally planned to name him Dasher, as he was a Christmas present for our family. However, the dog we ended up getting was six years old, and we felt he wouldn’t adapt to a new name. Therefore, we stuck with the name he had.

Now, T-Bone is already a funny name for a dog, but it gets funnier when you mean him. He’s a fifteen-pound chihuahua/jack russell terrier mix. All black with a white patch, one floppy ear, and a half-straight/half-curly tail. Despite his breeds, he’s also the calmest dog on the planet.

Perfect right?

While writing my latest Christmas romance, The Attraction Equation, I based everything about the dog in the story on T-Bone. Right down to the name. I tried to come up with a different name and came up with a hilarious list of possibilities (mostly found on the internet).

Here are a few I considered:

  • Bark Obama
  • Fuzzbucket
  • Underdog
  • Antler
  • Blitzen
  • Jack Frost
  • Kringle
  • Dickens
  • Scrooge
  • Naughty
  • Santa Paws
  • Notorious D.I.G. (or Diggie Smalls)

In the end, T-Bone was just too perfect for the dog—fictional and real. So, T-Bone it is. Not only that, but by the end T-Bone gets a doggie friend whose name is…a secret. Lol. Let’s just say it goes with T-Bone. You’ll have to read to find out.

Do you have a pet that you think has the perfect pet name? Please share along with a picture of your pet!

To meet T-Bone, read The Attraction Equation now! This #HolidayRomance is a standalone book.

Contemporary romance author, Kadie Scott, grew up consuming books and exploring the world through her writing. She attempted to find a practical career related to her favorite pastime by earning a degree in English Rhetoric (Technical Writing). However, she swiftly discovered that writing without imagination is not nearly as fun as writing with it. No matter the genre, she loves to write feisty heroines, sexy heroes who deserve them, and a cast of lovable characters to surround them (and maybe get their own stories).

10 years since finishing her first book, Kadie has published 16 novels/novellas under two pen names with more to come. An award-winning author, several of her books have won, placed, or finaled in multiple awards. She is also the owner/operator of Authors On A Dime, a company which provides a la carte services to help authors like herself. Kadie loves every part of the publishing journey and considers herself lucky to be living out her dream every day.

Kadie currently resides in Austin, Texas, with her own personal hero (and she married that guy!) and their two children, who are growing up way too fast.

Thank you so much for hosting me. I’d post a pic of T-Bone but the comments won’t let me. Lol. But I posted him on FB if anyone wants to weigh in on how perfect his name is!
