What do we love more than a day of work being over? A hot contemporary romance to bring us back into the world of the living! What’s better than that? A hot contemporary romance by A.M. Madden AND Joanne Schwehm! We’ve got a sneak peek at the cover to their latest, Finding Mr. Wrong, below, and not to spoil anything, but the words “finely chiseled” spring to mind. Learn a little about the book below and prepare yourself for some serious eye-candy:
Here’s a tip: never trust a jackass in preppy clothing.
The phrase “trust me” should have been my first clue to hightail it out the door, but hindsight is always 20/20.
So there I was, on a stage with two other men, being asked ridiculous questions by a woman I couldn’t see, but whose voice made my pants tighten—and not around my ankles.
Before I knew what was happening, I’d signed up for six weeks in paradise, isolated on an island for forty-two days with a complete stranger. And when I finally laid eyes on the sexy brunette who belonged to that voice, a part of me thought this wouldn’t be so bad.
I’ve always been a levelheaded guy. I am a successful, smart, and shrewd business man. But that was when I was listening to the head above my shoulders. Once the blood traveled south, I always ran into trouble.
She called me Mr. Wrong, and that was fine with me.
Lesson learned: lust always trumps logic.
And finally, here’s our main event:
We’re so excited for the cover reveal of Lord of Lies by Amy Sandas! Why? Mostly because we’re obsessed with the Fallen Ladies series and there’s so much to love about these characters. But partially? Partially, it’s because this cover has a little bit of everything we love in a great Romance cover. From the perfectly coy but classic Shirt That Is Sort of on the Male Lead But Not Really down to the Dress I Really Want But Can’t Possibly Exist in Reality, this cover has it all and we’re being big nerds about it.
But before we reveal anything, here’s a tantalizing look at the content:
“You do strange things to me, Dell Turner. Tell me I am not alone in what I feel.”
His voice was low and rough. His eyes burned. “You are not alone,” he said.
Portia Chadwick fears she’ll never have a life of adventure. But when a dangerous moneylender kidnaps her sister, Portia seeks help from a man known only as Nightshade. Soon she finds herself charging headfirst into his world of intrigue and danger—and unexpected passion.
Dell Turner grew up in London’s back alleys and gin lanes. Vowing to escape his low beginnings, he hires himself out to society’s elite. When he accepts a job from a beautiful young lady, he doesn’t anticipate her relentless determination to join his mad occupation, or her unnerving ability to inspire emotions he thought long buried. She’s as dangerous to him as his world is to her, and yet Dell can’t bring himself to turn Portia away… even if it means risking her life.
Alright. Now that you’ve had a taste, here’s the whole meal:
We are so excited to reveal the cover to Borrowed Souls by Chelsea Mueller. Why? Because 1. It’s guaranteed to be an excellent read. And 2. It also reminds us of some of our favorite things ever, which we’ll put at the bottom to avoid spoiling our very own post.*
Not enticing enough? Here’s a little about the book that will make Urban Fantasy lovers want this book right now. (But no worries, it’s out April 4th, 2017! That’s not so far away? Right? Right? Please stop crying.)
Callie Delgado always puts family first, and unfortunately her brother knows it. She’s emptied her savings, lost work, and spilled countless tears trying to keep him out of trouble, but now he’s in deeper than ever, and his debt is on Callie’s head. She’s given a choice: do some dirty work for the mob, or have her brother returned to her in tiny pieces.
Renting souls is big business for the religious population of Gem City. Those looking to take part in immoral—or even illegal—activity can borrow someone else’s soul, for a price, and sin without consequence.
To save her brother, Callie needs a borrowed soul, but she doesn’t have anywhere near the money to pay for it. The slimy Soul Charmer is willing to barter, but accepting his offer will force Callie into a dangerous world of magic she isn’t ready for.
With the help of the guarded but undeniably attractive Derek—whose allegiance to the Charmer wavers as his connection to Callie grows—she’ll have to walk a tight line, avoid pissing off the bad guys, all while struggling to determine what her loyalty to her family’s really worth.
Losing her brother isn’t an option. Losing her soul? Maybe.
And finally, what you’ve all been waiting for: The Cover!
We are honored to turn the mic over to the amazing Heather Van Fleet for the cover reveal to her latest book, Reckless Hearts! Take a look at the inspiration behind some amazing characters and a stunning cover below! Reckless Hearts debuts February 7th, 2017!
A little over a year ago, I met a man named Collin. He was tall, blessed with the definition of a six pack, and had these clear, blue eyes that would sparkle my way every time I closed my own eyes.
Collin was a little broody, didn’t talk much, and for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why this was. So I did what every author does when bombarded with an unexpected face, voice, and figure in their head:
I started writing him into a book.
Soon after I began this new literary adventure, Collin’s voice flew out of me like the wind. Not a light breeze, mind you, but hurricane gusts which I couldn’t seem to stop no matter how many times I tried to pull my fingers away from the keyboard. Collin was angry at the world, angry at life, and he wanted me to know it. He also seemed to want me to fix it too, but I didn’t quite know how. I did know one thing about Collin: he loved his family, he loved his best friends like brothers, and most of all he loved his nine-month-old daughter, Chloe, like she was all he’d ever need to live for again.
A little over a year ago, I also met a woman named Addison. She was short, her skin tanned year-round like my oldest daughter, and she also had the very same smile as Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars.
Addie was kind and generous, with an incredibly deep soul and a heart of pure gold that made me feel like I was on top of the world whenever I thought of her. She loved hard, she fought little, yet she had problems…the kind that were a bit too deep to flesh out in my head. So, like Collin, I included Addie in this story, and her voice unfolded in a way that was as natural to me as breathing.
Combining Collin and Addie was either the smartest thing I ever did, or the stupidest. At least that’s how I thought at first. Soon after, there was conflict to be had, incredibly steamy sex that I didn’t know I could write, and pages upon pages of bunting heads, banter, and stolen kisses. Collin and Addie were the most frustrating couple I’d ever written, yet at the same time, they gave me the best ride of my life with their overwhelming and all-consuming, love story.
My hope now is that you will all fall in love with them like I did. ♥
The room was filled with audible sighs (mostly from me) when we first read about How To Impress a Marquess (out November 1st, 2016). The latest from Susanna Ives is the perfect storm of everything we love: tragic childhoods, humor, an edge-of-your-seat romance, and fancy Victorian gowns! We can barely wait to get to the cover, so we’ll turn things over to the author herself, Susanna Ives:
I’m an armchair actress. I grew up on the stage and regard writing as a surrogate theater. Being a writer allows me to mentally play every part despite being a petite, middle-aged writer with a soft southern accent. My favorite plays are farces such as The Nerd, Noises Off, and of course, The Importance of Being Ernest. The first books in the Wicked series, Wicked Little Secrets and Wicked, My Love, reflect my love of farce comedy. So I wasn’t sure what I was diving into when I started How to Impress a Marquess because the hero and heroine suffer from childhoods of neglect or abuse—not the material of light farce. I had to strike a delicate balance between the humor and serious emotional elements. The hero and heroine fought their mutual attraction for years because if they gave into their desire, they would face painful personal demons. Yet only through surrendering to their love and owning their hurt could they achieve their deserved Happily Ever After. Despite my early reservations, I found I enjoyed drilling into the emotional lives of the characters, expanding my armchair theatrical horizons.
Alright, we know what you’ve been waiting for! Here’s the cover to How To Impress a Marquess:
We were so delighted when we got the sneak peek to What The Duke Doesn’t Know‘s cover we just had to ask the author a little more about it. So, without further ado, we turn the (metaphorical) microphone over to the amazing Jane Ashford!
Why am I so excited about the release of What the Duke Doesn’t Know? The book has a very original heroine. Only half English, Kawena grew up in Polynesia, giving her an outsider’s view of Regency culture. It also has a charming hero, Lord James Gresham, who’s been sailing the seas in the British Navy since the age of sixteen. He’s not fully at home in England either. The two have that in common. Several of James’s beguiling brothers make an appearance. Missing jewels turn up in a humorous place.
Through it all, James is very glad that his father the duke doesn’t know: that James was called a thief and nearly shot; that James is traipsing all over England with a South Seas beauty; that James has thrown the idea of a ‘proper English bride’ to the four winds. Because what else can he do when he’s bowled over by the most dazzling woman?
You heard it straight from the lovely Jane Ashford herself. There’s so much to be excited about for this Cover Reveal and we are thrilled to host it! The minute we saw it, we knew it was one of our favorite Historical covers, possibly ever. There’s just so much charm and—You know what? We’ll stop teasing!
